The NAMI Florida Tribute Scrapbook celebrates the career of Joyce Burland, Ph.D., who recently retired as National Director of the Education, Training, and Peer Support Center at NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).

Burland is a clinical psychologist who has been with NAMI since 2000 and is recognized as a leader in the field of peer education for families, consumers and providers of people with serious mental illness.

She is the author of two NAMI signature programs: the NAMI Family-to-Family Education curriculum, a peer education program for families, and the NAMI Provider Education Program, a course that trains public agency line staff in skills fostering family-consumer-provider collaboration. She also contributed to the development of Parents and Teachers as Allies.

In this scrapbook, NAMI Florida members and affiliates acknowledge their love, gratitude and respect for Joyce's leadership and all that she has contributed to their families through the Family to Family course.
